Belong is fully owned by Telstra, but operates with its own set of Internet plans. I recently joined telstra's new network called belong on their $80/mnth home bundle (Adsl 2+) 250gb with home line rental.

Check whether the device is getting a strong connection speed by performing a speed test .
All of their plans come on 12 month contracts, hitting only the two fastest NBN speed tiers.
out of desperation went out opened up box on the side of the house where the telstra line comes into the house and changed two gel caps that looked bit suspicious, finished job about 8:30pm speed now at 11.5 Mbps.
Either you have a really long line – about 3.5 to 4.0 km, which agrees with As I don't use the $1 modem, I changed the DNS settings to Google's public servers – 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
posted 2014-Oct-11, 7:04 pm AEST I told belong about my neighbour's speed and they said it has to do how iinet configures their dslam,I have logged faults and they always come back okJust did a speedtest before and after resetting the modem and your correct. posted 2014-Oct-11, 5:57 pm AEST I wouldn't opt out of Belong before investigating your problem a bit more.
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.6 / 20.9 hi belong team i am a new customer of nbn broadband adsl from belong and this is my 3rd unfortunate day. The filter isn't for the modem, it's for other devices attached like phone or fax.
The modem socket in the filter is a passthrough for convenience and it does no filtering, it's the same as just plugging the modem into the wall socket.Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.1 / 18.9well that's an estimate, and can be higher if the cable is a bit longer.I checked the adsl2exchanges.com.au website and I get:
Or the bedroom was branched off from the main line – causing the signal to be split?

I'm in Lane Cove NSW. Better performance was instantly noticeable, not so much on the actual up and down speeds but on how IE11 reacted.
posted 2014-Oct-11, 5:44 pm AEST I am currently with Belong in western australia for the last 6 months.
I'm putting it down to either exchange level congestion (Telstra Wholesale) or congestion on Belong's network. Or better yet; try both and post both results!Ran some speed tests and all I seem to be getting is:After some testing he found that when the line in the bedroom was disconnected the speed increased to 5Mbps.
As of tonight the service in total has been off line for 6 hours and I have had 2 1+ hour waits on the tech support line to see when the service may return before getting disconnected without actually speaking to anyone. From the dashboard, navigate to Technical Support 3. posted 2014-Oct-13, 7:58 pm AEST BELONG ADSL2+ Broadband VERY SLOW in Melbourne. Belong is a small broadband provider wholly owned by Telstra, However, in contrast to Telstra’s often complete internet plan range, Belong is taking the opposite approach, offering a reasonably simple, easy-to-understand selection of plan options on NBN connections.
Might pay to reboot your modem from time to time as modems will usually remain at the lowest line speed over time due to small changes in line conditions.Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 13.7 / 26.5My question to you guys is, do you think belong is shaping my speeds?? posted 2014-Oct-24, 11:42 pm AEST

unless there is something wrong with the phone lines.I think everyone across all ISP's are getting slow speeds lately.Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / BDCM Just curious; can anyone here please try a Telstra or an Internode mirror instead of an Optus one?
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,022 / 15,528 Hi, is anyone experiencing Belong as being very slow?
do an isolation test to make sure there's nothing holding the modem back unnecessarily, but after that, what you get is what you get. posted 2014-Oct-27, 8:16 pm AEST
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 33.6 / 51.0and the funny thing is you get home from work to find a useless connection, so what's the point of an adsl connections if you can't use it when you need it most?Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 33.6 / 48.5Good figures given the line length. My first 2 months were trouble-free and I used to get 12 Mbps at all times then after speed started to drop and I am currently getting 1.3 Mbps and I am supposed to be on an ADSL 2 connection, this is happening daily after 5 pm, my neighbour gets 12 Mbps speed with iinet at peak times which is what we should get as we are 1.3 Km from the exchange. I have had cable at other places I have lived in since the late 90's and I cant believe these speed problems still exist in CBD areas, also my next door neighbor is the head office of ORACLE in Australia!!!
Im located at Williamstown Vic and i just connected recently with belong, I cant get speeds above 500Kbyte.
Funny enough you can get onto the sales team within 5 seconds.
